Obedience

Educating your dog is the role and the duty of every owner! A good education is the basis for human - dog coexistence. It is up to TemplarDog, as an association, to help our members in the (sometimes difficult) task of educating their dog, as well as helping reinforce some behavioral rules. Through basic obedience you can have more control over your four-legged friend in everyday situations that may sometimes be 'dangerous' to our loyal friend, such as: the leash, collar or harness breaking during your walk around an area with traffic. Basic obedience is not limited to teaching simple orders and commands. It also teaches the difference between what is right and what is wrong, as well as how your friend should react to everyday situations with the both of you, besides helping establish boundaries for the proper functioning of your home in harmony, in favor of your and your dog's well-being.

Socialization

Pet socialization, when conducted in a proper manner and associated with positive reinforcement training techniques, is a great contribution in helping prevent behavioral problems. It is about exposing the dog to different situations: different noises, people of different types and ages, animals and places. It is one of the fundamental parts of the dog's training, who should start socializing as soon as they are born. A dog with no socialization, a lot of the times, becomes a very fearful or aggressive dog.

Group Classes  and Individual Classes

Group Classes are dedicated to teaching new commands and reinforcing previously learned ones. They not only serve to get the dog used to everyday life, commands, and different situations, but also to get them used to being around other dogs and introducing elements that are different from their everyday life.

Dog Walks

TemplarDog is located in the beautiful town of Tomar, and in order to take advantage of what the city has to offer its' citizens, we organize Dog Walks: walks open to not only our members, but to everyone who wants hang out and walk with their four-legged friends. The goal is to walk in your dog's company and to share moments of freedom, affection, and physical exercise.

Sports

Mondioring is a canine modality, whose beginning dates back to the 80s, from the combination of dog selection tests for the police.  It aims to highlight the intrinsic skills of the dogs, as well as the quality of their training, together with the control of their handler. In this sport we can highlight three areas of training: obedience, agility, and bravery.

Agility is a canine modality based on equestrian contests, which emerged in the late 70s. In this sport the dog has to test their agility, ability, and speed (never forgetting about obedience) and follow an obstacle course flawlessly and as fast as possible.
